Author, Leader and Retired Fighter Pilot Kim Campbell to be Keynote Speaker at the EWF Annual Conference

The former U.S. Air Force Colonel Kim “KC” Campbell, a fighter pilot, senior military commander, and best-selling author, will be this year’s keynote speaker at the Executive Women’s Forum on Information Security, Risk Management, and Privacy.

“Flying in the Face of Fear: A Fighter Pilot’s Lessons on Leading with Courage” is Campbell’s book, published by Wiley in 2023. At the age of 13, she enlisted in the Civil Air Patrol as a cadet. At the age of 17, she flew solo over San Jose in a civilian aircraft. Her jet was hit by anti-aircraft artillery during a flight over Baghdad in 2003, and it sustained significant damage. Campbell is one of the few pilots who have ever successfully landed the A-10 in manual mode, flying the damaged aircraft in manual mode for more than an hour to return to base. She managed to accomplish all of this while battling her fear of maybe having to escape over Baghdad.

“As a trailblazing female colonel in the U.S. Air Force, a best-selling author, and seasoned speaker, KC is a stellar addition to our growing list of amazing keynote speakers,” says Joyce Brocaglia, EWF’s founder and CEO. “We are very excited to partner with our long-time benefactor, Merck, to bring KC’s words of wisdom, leadership, strength, and power to the EWF Sisterhood this November!”

Merck, who is commemorating 15 years as a Corporate Benefactor partner of the EWF in our shared aim to develop women leaders in cyber risks and privacy, is happy to sponsor Campbell’s keynote. In San Antonio, Texas, on November 8, this keynote address will be given.

The EWF’s Annual Conference will take place in San Antonio, Texas, from November 7 to 11.
